UEFA has set a deadline for playing in the quarterfinals in the Champions League

UEFA has set a deadline of April 2 to play all the eighth-final matches in the Champions League. The requirement is due to the restrictions imposed by Germany on travelers from England due to the new strain of COVID-19.

Liverpool will visit RB Leipzig on February 16 for the first match of the round of 16. At this stage, it is not specified whether there will be an exception for travel for professional athletes.

UEFA is urging clubs to co-operate with national football federations to clarify travel rules, which could be hampered by closed borders and quarantine requirements. The quarterfinals of the Champions League are scheduled to end on March 17, and the first quarterfinal matches are scheduled for April 6-7.
