The Champions League could get a winner this Friday, Reuters reported, quoting Danish television DR.
According to the president of the Danish Football Association, Jesper Moeller, who is also a member of the UEFA Executive Committee, a decision to exclude Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City from the tournament will be made by the end of the week.
The three clubs are among the 12 that announced on Sunday that they will be relegated to the European Super League. At the same time, they, along with Paris Saint-Germain, are the four teams that reached the semifinals of the Champions League.
Parisians also have an invitation to the Super League, but so far they have not accepted it. In such a situation, it is quite realistic for Paris Saint-Germain to be determined as the official winner.
"These clubs must be expelled and I expect this to happen on Friday," said Moeller.
A similar decision is expected for the Europa League tournament, in which two of the "defectors" from UEFA - Manchester United and Arsenal - reached the semifinals.
If both English teams are eliminated, this will automatically send their rivals to the semi-finals Roma and Villarreal in the final.
