The teams of Euro 2020 will be able to make five shifts per match

Euro 2020 participants will have the right to make five substitutions per match, decided the UEFA Executive Committee.

The rule for two additional shifts was temporarily introduced due to difficulties in preparing players during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is currently used in European club tournaments, qualifiers for the World Cup in Qatar, as well as in almost all national championships.

"The reason for the five-shift rule to remain in force is that it is used in the already started World Cup qualifiers from March 2021 to March 2022, so UEFA has agreed to keep it for the upcoming Euro 2020 finals in June and July. 2021, the finals of the League of Nations in October 2021 and the playoffs in the League of Nations in March 2022 ", announced UEFA.

The European headquarters, as expected, postponed the debate and vote on the changes in the form of the Champions League. This case will be considered at the next meeting of the Executive Committee on April 19.

In addition, UEFA has decided to lift the 30% limit on stadium occupancy. This allows each country to determine the number of spectators to be admitted to the matches of the European Championship.
