Legendary Chelsea goalkeeper and current boss Peter Cech has renewed his contract with the Guildford Phoenix hockey team.
The 39-year-old Czech took on the new challenge in 2019. He recorded six games in the 2019/2020 season.
In his debut for Guildford, Phoenix was named Player of the Match. Cech made some brilliant saves and then stopped two penalties, which allowed Guildford to emerge the ultimate winner.
Despite immediate success, Cech, who plays technical director at Chelsea, chose not to renew his contract with Phoenix. This was because, quite surprisingly, he was included in Chelsea's 25 men in the Premier League for the 2020/21 season, although he withdrew from the game a year earlier.
Now Peter Cech has rejoined the Guildford Phoenix team, replacing the puck once more.
