Jorgeninho is UEFA's Player of the Year

Chelsea midfielder Giorgino has been named UEFA Player of the Year. He became only the second player, other than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, to win the prize since 2008, after Luka Modric grabbed the award three years ago.
               
Giorgino won in the competition of his teammate N'Golo Cante and Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City.

The 29-year-old is enjoying a sensational season in Europe and has played an important role in helping Chelsea win the Champions League trophy.

The year for the Chelsea footballer became even better when two months later he won the European Championship with Italy, after playing in every match for the "squadra azzura".

The Italian national is currently the bookmakers' fourth favorite to win the Ballon d'Or, after Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski and his teammate Cante.

Alexia Putejas of the Barcelona team was named "Best Player in Women".

Putejas won the prize in the competition of his teammates from the Kaluga team Jennifer Hermoso and Like Mertens.

Edouard Mendy from Chelsea was named the best goalkeeper in the awards, and Sandra Panyos from Barcelona was named the best goalkeeper in the women's category.

Ruben Dias from Manchester City was named the best defender.

N'Golo Cante was named the best midfielder, as well as Alexia Puteias in the women's category.

Borussia Dortmund's Erling Holland has been named the best striker. Jennifer Hermoso from Barcelona was chosen as the best striker.

Thomas Tuchel is the best coach of the year.
