When will the European Football Championship be played?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Euro 2020 was postponed by one year and will start on June 11, 2021.

The tournament will end on July 11, 2021. When we will find out which nation will be the new European football champion.

The EURO 2021 program:

  • Group phase: June 11-23, 2021
  • Round of 16: June 26-29, 2021
  • Quarter finals: July 2-3, 2021
  • Semifinals: July 6-7, 2021
  • Final: July 11, 2021

Where will it be played? Stadiums and hosts

This time, the European finals will not have only one host country, as was the tradition. And the matches will be held in 12 cities across the continent:

Rome, Italy  - the stadium must host the opening match . Plus 2 more matches from the group stage and one quarterfinal.

London, England  - Wembley has to play 7 games. Including the semifinals and the final .

Munich, Germany  - the stadium must host 3 matches of the group stage and quarterfinals.

St. Petersburg, Russia  - the stadium must host 3 matches of the group stage and quarterfinals.

Baku, Azerbaijan  - the stadium must host 3 matches of the group stage and quarterfinals.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands  - the stadium must host 3 matches in the group stage and one round of 16.

Bucharest, Romania  - the stadium must host 3 matches of the group stage and one round of 16.

Budapest, Hungary  - the stadium must host 3 matches in the group stage and one round of 16.

Copenhagen, Denmark  - the stadium must host 3 matches in the group stage and one round of 16.

Dublin, Ireland  - The stadium must host 3 matches in the group stage and one round of 16.

Glasgow, Scotland  - The stadium must host 3 matches in the group stage and one round of 16.

Bilbao, Spain  - The stadium must host 3 matches of the group stage and the round of 16.

How did the teams qualify for the finals?

For the first time in the history of the European finals, no team has automatically qualified for the forum. Like everyone deserves a place through the sifting scheme.

20 of the finalists were determined after playing the Qualifiers:

Belgium, Italy, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Spain, Turkey, France, England, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Croatia, Austria, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, Denmark and Wales.

Another 4 teams received quotas for Euro 2021 during the playoffs of the League of Nations:

Hungary, Slovakia, Scotland, Northern Macedonia.
