Diego Costa has reached an agreement in principle with Benfica and will sign a two-year contract. The 32-year-old left Atletico Madrid in December and turned down numerous offers.
Wolverhampton and Sao Paulo are just some of the teams that made specific offers to Costa, but he turned them down.
The contract between Costa and Benfica will enter into force in June, and his salary will amount to 3.5 million euros.
Diego Costa left Atletico Madrid for personal reasons. At the end of the season, the Spanish club will have to pay 3.2 million euros to the striker.
