Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy, who appeared in court today on charges of rape, has been detained, the BBC reported.
The 27-year-old defense attorney has been charged with four counts of rape and sexual assault. In the courtroom, Mandy showed no emotion. After his hearing lasted a little over an hour, he was taken out of the courtroom by two police officers.
It was the investigation that led to the Frenchman being removed from Josep Guardiola.
The charges against Mandy are from three applicants over the age of 16. The incident is said to have taken place between October last year and August. He moved to Manchester City from Monaco in 2017.
